MOSQUITO FIRE INFORMATION AND RESOURCES

Messaging From FHS Admin:

9.23.22 - Foresthill Families,

Wow, as I type this from our temporary “hub” of the Placer HS Learning Commons, our students and staff are buzzing with excitement about returning to our home campus of Foresthill High School next week. As you may have seen on KCRA, the school is undergoing extensive cleaning and inspections in preparation for our safe return. On Monday, September 26, we will start out the day with a brief assembly from 8:30 am to about 8:50 am in the gym. We would like to invite parents to join us. Parents, if you do plan to join us, please check in with Stefanie and Jolene at the entrance of the gym.

Beginning Monday, we will return to our normal weekly schedule and be back to in-person instruction. We will no longer have an online/independent study option. Tutoring will start before school (7:30-8:30) on Thursday, September 29th.

Supports:

Please see this flier above with some information on supports provided through PCOE.

Please contact our Counselor, Annie Cardullo or our Mental Health Specialist, Nicole Porter if your family or student are in need of additional supports or resources.

We look forward to seeing you all on Monday.

Thank you,

Erin Davenport- Principal

9.20.22 - We have a lot of updates to share. We appreciate everyone's patience as we work to get our students back on the FHS campus.

Back to FHS

Unless we get a curve ball, the campus should be fully inspected, cleaned and ready to resume classes at Foresthill HS on Monday, Sept 26th. We will start with a short assembly in the gym and then resume classes. We will have additional support staff present that day to support students as they transition back.

This Week

We will continue to have in-person classes at Placer High for the remainder of the week (Wed, Thurs, Fri). Friday will be a minimum day with a start time of 8:40 and end time of 12:40. There will be a bus from Foresthill to Placer High (for this week only). Please see the full bus schedule below.

Meals, etc.

There will be another opportunity to pick up supplies (clothing, hygiene kits), cases of water, snacks, and grab-and-go 4-day meals. Pick-up will be this Thursday from 3:00-3:45 at the Conex box on the back corner of the Placer HS campus (corner of Finley and Stadium Way). Map.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Erin Davenport

9.19.22 - It is terrific to see some of the evacuation orders lifting and we hope that the majority of Foresthill High School families and Foresthill residents will be able to return very soon. As of this writing, the High School property is still within a mandatory evacuation zone. We have been in communication with insurance and local authorities as FHS will need to go through a series of inspections before the property and facility can be deemed safe for students and staff to return. For now, we will continue to offer both an in-person option from Placer High School and an online option. We will reevaluate and adjust school options and bus routes as we get more information.

Reminder, tomorrow is a traditional short PLC Monday. The bus schedule is listed below. Please understand not all times are set in stone as we are working to also accommodate FDS students. I will also send out a message tomorrow regarding times for grab and go multi day meals as well as pick up times for cases of water and snacks.

We recognize these are still very challenging times for our students, families and staff. If you have any questions or if there is anything we can assist with, please reach out. Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

Erin Davenport- Principal

9.13.22 - Seeing the fire blow up last night right across from FHS, Worton's, the Divide, and near so many homes was almost surreal. What an amazing effort from our firefighters.

We recognize things have been extremely challenging this past week for everyone in our Foresthill community and we want to provide a list of Mosquito Fire RESOURCES. I'd like to give a special thank you for the hard work and efforts from our Counselor, Annie Cardullo, who put this list together. I'd also like to thank our MHS, Nicole Porter; Attendance Tech, Monica Toschi; and Library Tech, Wendy Baldwin for making every effort to call families to determine how we can provide support. We recognize a number of students evacuated without their Chromebook or charger. Either or both can be checked out through the Placer High Learning Commons at 275 Orange St. Auburn.

Please reach out if you have any questions.
