PUHSD Earns Top State Ratings on 2026 California School Dashboard

Placer Union High School District Earns Top State Ratings on 2026 California School Dashboard
The California Department of Education released the 2026 California School Dashboard on October 15, and Placer Union High School District earned the state's highest rating in two of the measures that matter most: college and career readiness and graduation rate.
More than eight in ten PUHSD graduates, 80.9%, finished high school prepared for college and career, earning the district a Blue rating, the highest the state awards. The graduation rate climbed to 96.3%, also Blue. College/career preparedness has risen each year since 2023, reaching 80.9%, compared with 68.9% in 2019.
The district outperformed the state in every tested subject. Among juniors, 70.9% were proficient in English language arts, compared to 57.4% statewide. In mathematics, 43.0% were proficient against 31.9% for the state. In science, 48.9% compared to 38.5% statewide. All three subjects earned Green ratings, with English and math both improving over last year and science earning Green in its first year as a full Dashboard indicator.
English learner progress was another bright spot. Half of the district's English learners are making progress toward proficiency, up seven points from last year and earning a Green rating.
Every campus contributed to the results. Del Oro High School posted a 98.7% graduation rate, earned Blue in science, and it also has the only schoolwide average above the proficiency threshold in math among the supplied school reports.
Placer High earned a Blue 80.7% in college and career readiness and improved its mathematics performance by more than 25 points. Colfax High jumped nearly 26 points in English to earn a Blue rating. Foresthill High posted strong career/college readiness at 88.6%. Maidu Virtual Charter Academy graduated 99.0% of its students. Confluence Continuation High School serves students on an alternative pathway, and the state evaluates alternative schools using different methods than comprehensive campuses. Its full 2026 report is included in the attachments below.
The district also met the standard on all five local indicators, which cover qualified teachers and instructional materials, implementation of academic standards, parent and family engagement, school climate, and access to a broad course of study.
The California School Dashboard is the state's school accountability system. It rates schools and districts on a five-color scale from Red to Blue across academic performance, graduation rates, college and career readiness, suspension rates, and English learner progress.
