Re: GoKid school carpooling tool launching on 7/28

Hello Placer Union High School District Families,

As many of you know, the Placer Union High School District (PUHSD) is working with GoKid. GoKid is a top school carpooling program. It will make it easier for parents to carpool to and from school. We will start the program for new families and families that have not yet signed up on July 28th.

Important: If you have already signed up with GoKid, you can log into the app on July 28. Then, search for new families in the "Find Family" tab. You will not get a welcome email. Families that chose not to participate before will also not get any messages.

What to Expect on July 28:

  • Welcome Email: New families, and families that have not yet signed up will get an email from GoKid. This email will invite you to sign up and set up carpools with other school families. (Please check your spam folder if you do not get the email on this date. Mark the email as "not spam.")

  • Registration: Click "Get Started" to register your account with [SCHOOL]. If you already have a GoKid account, set a password. Then you will be able to link it to [SCHOOL].

  • Optional opt out: Do not want to carpool? Click "Opt Out" in the email. You will stop getting messages from GoKid. Please know that you cannot easily undo this choice.

  • Create carpools: Find school families near you on a map. You can start chats and create carpools using the GoKid mobile apps (App Store,Google Play Store) orweb app.

  • Features: [SCHOOL] families will get all premium features for free. These features are usually worth $50 per year.
