Local Control Accountability
California's 2013-14 Budget Act includes landmark legislation that greatly simplifies the State's school finance system.  The changes introduced by the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) represented a major shift in how school districts are funded.  For nearly 40 years, schools were funded with general purpose dollars and more than 50 tightly defined categorical programs.  Under LCFF, California funds school districts per student with adjustments based on grade level and demographic characteristics.  LCFF replaces complexity in favor of equity, transparency, and performance. The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is a required component of the new funding formula.  The District's LCAP is written and developed with input from community stakeholder group-staff, parents, students and local community members.  Our stakeholders have been asked to provide input on the State's eight priority areas for the education of our students. For more information, please review the presentations listed below under "Local Control Funding Resources".

An annual forum is held within each PUHSD school community to communicate how well our students and staff are achieving the goals set within our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). This will also be an opportunity to provide input on district facilities as PUHSD begins the process of creating a facilities master plan.  Contact your school for the date of its LCAP Community Forum.

Are you a parent, student, or community member interested in our schools? Please fill out our LCAP survey.  Thank you!

PUHSD Local Control Accountability Plan

Pursuant to Ed Code 52060 on or before July 1, 2019, the Governing Board of each school district shall adopt a PUHSD Local Control and Accountability Plan (PUHSD LCAP) and Maidu Virtual Charter Academy Local Control and Accountability Plan (MVCA LCAP) (click link to view) using the template adopted by the State Board of Education.  The LCAP is effective for three years with annual updates, must be aligned to the PUHSD's budget, and will include the district's annual goals in each of the eight specified state priorities. The plans must include both district-wide goals and goals for specific subgroups with the district.
