 Printed Application Packets due to Sarah Rath at PUHSD office by: February 14, 2020 

 

Candidate Criteria: 

  • Current classified employee in California public School (preschool through grade twelve), including charter schools, district offices and CEOs
  • Not serving as a management or supervisory position
  • Minimum of five years of service in a nomination category.

 

Nomination Categories (6):

  1. Child Nutrition – cook, cafeteria worker 
  2. Maintenance, Operations, and Facilities – technology support, custodian, electrician, carpenter, groundskeeper, mechanic 
  3. Office and Technical – accountant, network engineer, programmer, secretary, attendance clerk 
  4. Para-Educator and Instructional Assistance – classroom assistant, instructional aide, library assistant 
  5. Support Services and Security – campus security monitor, health aide, community outreach assistant
  6. Transportation – bus driver, dispatcher, mechanic.


Nomination Requirements: 

  • Submission of at least two and no more than three letters of recommendation per nominee 
    • At least one recommendation must be from a superintendent, district administrator or direct supervisor. Other recommendations may be the site principal, colleague, student, parent, employee organization office or civic leader.
    • The content of the letter of recommendation should focus on the nominee's work performance, school community involvement, leadership and commitment.
    • Each letter of recommendation must be at least one page, but should not exceed three pages.
  • All materials should be submitted as a complete Nomination Packet for each nominee.

**One nominee from each category will be selected as the PUHSD Classified Employee of the Year and forwarded to PCOE as the PUHSD nominee for PCOE Classified Employee of the Year. **
