 Printed Application Packets Due to Desiree Atkins at PUHSD Office by: March 4, 2016 

Candidate Criteria: 
  • Current classified employee (including confidential/non-management)

  • Rank-and-file employee (not in a management or supervisory position) 

  • Minimum of five years of service in a nomination category

Nomination Categories (5): 

  1. Child Nutrition- cook, cafeteria worker 

  2. Maintenance, Operations, and Facilities – technology support, custodian, electrician, carpenter, groundskeeper, mechanic 

  3. Office and Technical- accountant, network engineer, programmer, secretary, attendance clerk 

  4. Para-Educator and Instructional Assistance – classroom assistant, instructional aide, library assistant 

  5. Support Services and Security – campus security monitor, health aide, community outreach assistant
**One nominee from each category will be selected as the PUHSD Classified Employee of the Year and forwarded to PCOE as the PUHSD nominee for PCOE Classified Employee of the Year. **

Nomination Requirements: 

  • This is a written nomination process 

  • The judging will be organized around three themes: 
    • Work Performance 
    • School Community Involvement 
    • Leadership and Commitment 
  1. One-page nomination form (click here) - you must be logged into your Google account  to access this document and you should download and save the document to your computer and then fill it out in Word format.

  2. Nominee Recommendations form (click here)- Set of three required. You must be logged into your Google account  to access this document and you should download and save the document to your computer and then fill it out in Word format.

The essence of the nomination is a set of three (3) Nominee Recommendation forms that should document the qualities and performance of the candidate. Nominee recommendations can be from a district administrator, school principal, supervisor, colleague, student, parent, employee organization office or civic leader. At least one recommendation has to be from a district administrator or a supervisor. The content of the Nominee Recommendation form should focus on the nominee’s work performance; school community involvement; and leadership and commitment. Click here to see a sample of a completed nominee recommendation. The example provided is  intended only as guidance for the writer. Each nominee recommendation is limited to three pages. 

**A complete nomination packet includes one (1) nomination form and three (3) nominee recommendation forms, with one of the recommendations coming from a district administrator or supervisor. Incomplete packets will not be eligible for consideration.**

    3. Paper, Spacing and Fonts 

    All parts of the candidate nomination must adhere to the following formatting standards (the linked forms conform to these formatting requirements): 
  •  Typewritten 
  • 12 point Arial font 
  • Margins of at least ¾ inch on right, left, top, and bottom 
  • Printed on standard weight, 8 ½ by 11” white paper
